Boats at anchor under a dusk sky in Komodo National Park

Itineraries

A Week on the Water

Long enough to stop planning. The same islands as the shorter routes, reached at the hours day boats never see, with second attempts when the weather says no.

The Week

  1. 01

    Day 1 · Departure

Board at Labuan Bajo, sail out in the afternoon, first night at anchor.

  2. 02

    Day 2 · Rinca

Loh Buaya at dawn for the ranger-led trek, before any day boat arrives.

  3. 03

    Day 3 · Padar

The ridge at sunrise, then a slow afternoon at a quiet anchorage.

  4. 04

    Day 4 · Komodo & reefs

Komodo Island trek and an afternoon on the snorkelling sites.

  5. 05

    Day 5 · Manta & Taka

Drift snorkel at Manta Point, then the sandbar at Taka Makassar.

  6. 06

    Day 6 · Kalong

A second island stop, and the flying foxes at dusk if the timing works.

  7. 07

    Day 7 · Return

A final swim, then back into Labuan Bajo before midday.

In short

The rhythm settles by day three: an early stop while the light is good, a long midday passage, an afternoon in the water, and dinner at anchor.

  • Two chances at Padar and Rinca if cloud or swell spoils the first.
  • Snorkel sites chosen by the tide rather than by the schedule.
  • Enough nights aboard that the crossings stop feeling like transit.
