Fly to Labuan Bajo
Direct services from Denpasar to Komodo Airport, roughly 1h20 to 1h40 depending on the carrier.

Getting There & Costs
There is no same-day option. Bali to Rinca means a flight to Labuan Bajo of roughly an hour and a half, then a boat — which makes this a three or four day leg, not an afternoon.
Plan the Komodo LegThe Chain
Four steps, and each one has to leave room for the next. Compressing any of them is where these trips go wrong.
Direct services from Denpasar to Komodo Airport, roughly 1h20 to 1h40 depending on the carrier.
Boats leave at dawn. Arriving the night before is what makes an early departure possible.
30–45 minutes by speedboat, 1.5–2 hours on a wooden boat, from Labuan Bajo harbour.
Back by evening, and a flight out the following day rather than the same one.
Three to four solid days in Labuan Bajo is the honest minimum for Rinca plus one or two other stops. Anything shorter and the weather has no room to be difficult.
If Bali is the main holiday, treat Komodo as a focused expedition on the end of it rather than stretching it thinner. Fewer days in Bali and a real Komodo leg beats the reverse.
Take a morning flight out of Denpasar. An afternoon arrival costs you the following morning’s early departure.
Jakarta and Surabaya also connect to Labuan Bajo, and are sometimes the better routing from overseas.
One weather day. A cancelled crossing should cost you a stop, not the island.
Give Komodo Luxury your Bali dates and they will build the Komodo leg around them rather than the other way round.
